Spray Foam History

Dave Davidson began his career as painting contractor for chemical and industrial complexes. This is where he was first introduced to spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing and wall insulation and where in 1963, he became one of the first spray foam applicators in the country.

Within a few years the popularity of spray foam had grown to the point that Mr. Davidson now had an operational distribution center serving equipment, parts, and materials to a five state region. As his reputation for quality spray foam experience spread Mr. Davidson was hired by different manufacturer's R&D departments to perform experimental installation studies.

This led to other industry contractors retaining Mr. Davidson to train them and their employees on the proper procedures for using spray foam equipment to ensure a quality installation and many of those professionals are leaders in the spray foam industry today.

As a direct consultant to Fred Gusmer, developer of Gusmer SPF dispensing equipment, Mr. Davidson was an instrumental figure in the early development of contemporary spray equipment. Mr. Davidson understood that an applicator was only as good as his tools, materials, and training allowed him to be.

With that understanding in mind, Dave Davidson’s legacy continues to live on through his family owned business and is an industry leader in SPF application, equipment, and training while maintaining Dave Davidson's vision of teaching a contractor that his tools, materials, and experience combine to create the real key to success.
